Positive Discipline Workshop for Parents and Caregivers

Tools and Support for Building Healthy Relationships in Families
Wednesday Evenings: April 10, 17, 24, 5:30-7:30PM with Julia Tomes

Raising children is stressful! In addition, recent studies show rapidly rising levels of stress, anxiety, ADHD/ADD and other health concerns in children.  Studies also show that children who perceive their parents to be both kind (responsive) and firm (structured) are at a lower risk of risky behavior in adolescence, and improved academic performance.  When children feel a strong connection to their family, school, and community they are less likely to misbehave.  Families often feel alone and lacking skills to handle these concerns and behaviors.  But, they don’t have to navigate these challenges by themselves.  Let us help hone these skills!

Please join us for a three week parenting series, based on current brain research and best practices.  This series will introduce you to practical and respectful tools to help build strong and healthy relationships with your child.  You will learn about child development and your child’s growing brain. We will focus on building self-regulation and resiliency in children and families so you can provide the needed support as they grow and develop on their journey into adulthood.  This workshop is based upon the Positive Discipline approach and the wisdom of the many experts who have, and continue to contribute to the field of neuropsychology and Trauma Informed Practices.

Cost for 3 week series:   $75 Individual/ $100 couple.  Sliding scale available, just ask Julia.

Attendees must register for all three classes. Childcare is not available for this event, so we kindly ask that you attend without them. The event space only has floor seating available, so feel free to bring any seating accommodations you wish to be comfortable for this two hour workshop. For any additional questions, please reach out to info@treehouseplayschoolpdx.com!
